Taylor School District’s Family Resource Center hosted its second annual Ministerial Breakfast on Nov. 9 where faith-based organizations from around Taylor and the surrounding area joined TSD’s leadership team to learn how their support helped our schools last year, and how they can continue to partner with our schools going forward.
“The Ministerial Breakfast is such a good way to bring these faith-based organizations together to show them how their support helps our students,” says Bridget Jarvis, parent and community liaison at TSD. “It’s nice to have the opportunity to really give them perspective as to how they are affecting our district.”
To pair with the complimentary breakfast, pastries were provided by the team at CB’s Cafe, Taylor School District's student-run restaurant through the Taylor Career and Technical Center.
“CB’s Cafe is exceptional,” says Bridget. “Everyone always loves the food items they provide. It’s a great program for students.”
This year, the breakfast was held at the Board Annex building, and the Family Resource Center received a generous offer to decorate the space, free of charge, from Visionary Events & Planning.
“Victoria from Visionary Events & Planning was a blessing,” says Bridget. “The entire classroom we held the breakfast in turned into a beautiful event space. We had balloon arches, rustic place settings and more. It really transformed the morning.”
As a result of last year’s breakfast, TSD received donations to the Family Resource Center, including 200 backpacks, volunteers for our Unified Special Olympics Day, monetary donations to support our students and more.
“As I’ve said before, being able to partner with faith-based organizations is something all of us at Taylor School District are thankful for. They make such an impact on so many lives and we can never repay them,” says Bridget.
The Ministerial Breakfast is something our district plans to continue to hold every year. We are so thankful for the support given to our students and staff from these organizations. Showing them how their willingness to give helps provide our students the essential items needed to focus on learning is something Bridget and the Family Resource Center feels is extremely important.
